Render built for coastal weather
Properties on the North Wales coast take a lot of wind-driven rain and salt air. Render that’s properly prepared and applied protects the walls behind it for years, while patchy or poorly bonded render lets water in and fails early.

Recent rendering work
Every rendering job starts with proper preparation: cutting out failed render back to sound edges, preparing the wall and building the new coats up evenly so the repair blends in.
We won’t leave a job until you’re happy with the finish.

Rendering questions
Can you repair just part of a rendered wall?
Often, yes. Paul will look at how much of the render has cracked or come away and tell you honestly whether a repair or a full re-render makes more sense.
What time of year can you render?
Render needs dry weather without frost to cure properly, so we plan outside work around the forecast. Spring to autumn is the most reliable time, but work can go ahead in milder spells through the year.
Why does render crack or blow?
Usually because water has got behind it, through cracks, failed edges or poor preparation when it was first applied. Once render loses its bond with the wall it sounds hollow when tapped and needs cutting out and replacing.
Do you render whole houses?
We specialise in patch rendering, render repairs and smaller rendering jobs rather than full house re-renders. If you’re not sure which your job is, give Paul a call and he’ll tell you straight away.
What types of render and finishes do you do?
We use sand and cement render and lime render. Lime is often the better choice on older stone and solid-walled properties because it lets the wall breathe. We also do pebble dash and patterned finishes, and match patches to the existing finish as closely as possible.
Do you do plastering as well?
Yes. Inside, we do skimming, re-skimming over Artex, dry lining, plasterboarding and repairs. See our plastering services.
Which areas do you cover?
We’re based in Llandudno and cover the whole of North Wales, including Conwy, Colwyn Bay, Abergele, Rhyl, Prestatyn, the Conwy Valley, Bangor and Anglesey.
